ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles flew to the heart of the U.S. oil patch Monday as part of his drive to keep oil companies --majors and independents alike -- focused on Alaska.
Following recent meetings with BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. and Arco Alaska Inc. -- the two biggest producers in the state --Knowles went to Houston for talks with Exxon Co. USA, Union Texas Petroleum, Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Marathon Oil Co.
