Article: AT&T Telstar 401 Satellite Experiences Service Interruption.

BEDMINSTER, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 1997--AT&T said that its Telstar 401 satellite experienced an abrupt failure of its telemetry and communications this morning at 6:15 a.m. Eastern Standard Time affecting service for all customers.

AT&T immediately restored service for customers whose contracts called for transfer of their transponder service to Telstar 402R in the case of a service outage.
