Toshiba is to build a pilot carbon capture and storage (CCS) plant in Japan to test and validate its latest R&D into separation and capture technologies.

Construction of the plant, at Sigma Power Ariake s Mikawa power plant in Omuta City, is due to begin in spring next year, with testing to begin in August.

The Mikawa pilot plant will capture 10 tons of CO2 a day from the boiler flue of the coal fired thermal power ...
