NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 1997--Reed Elsevier Inc., the U.S. arm of the $5.7 billion Reed Elsevier plc international publishing group, with its Cahners Publishing Co. division, has invested in and formed a strategic alliance with Mainspring Communications Inc.
Mainspring is a start-up interactive information service for businesses and professionals deploying Internet technologies. Bruce Barnet, executive vice president of Reed Elsevier Inc. and president and chief executive officer of Cahners, has joined the Mainspring board of directors.
