Boston College football coach Jeff Jagodzinski called Keith Bourne into his office a couple of weeks ago and said the words the Fitchburg High senior has been hoping to hear since middle school.
"We are offering you a scholarship to play football at BC."
Even though he had been offered a scholarship at Northeastern just a few weeks earlier and still was being pursued by colleges from Orono to Storrs, Bourne didn't need any time to consider his options.
Of course he would be an Eagle.
"It's BC," Bourne said. "I love BC. It's been my favorite school since I was in seventh grade." ...
