Article: Fresh Choice Ends Business in Washington, D.C. Area.

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 1997--Fresh Choice Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif. sold its two restaurants in Columbia, Md. and Arlington, Va. to Fresh Fare Enterprises L.L.C. of Ellicott City, Md. on Dec. 29 for $750,000 and closed its other East Coast unit in Fairfax, Va. on Dec. 31.

As part of the sale, Fresh Choice has agreed that it will not compete in the Baltimore, Md. and Washington, D.C. areas for 4 years, and has agreed that Fresh Fare may operate the two restaurants it purchased using the Fresh Choice name and its trademark and trade dress for up to 90 days.
