PUB prices on hold for a year? The majority of pubs operate a price increase by stealth.
There are 20 fluid ounces in a pint glass, and I very rarely get a full glass. In many cases, especially with Guinness, the glass can be as much as an inch below the measure. This represents around two fluid ounces and that was the main reason why I stopped drinking Guinness.
Ask for a top-up and youre regarded as a nuisance and rarely, even then, do you get what youve paid for.
At, lets say, e4.50 per pint, that works out at e0.225 per fluid ounce, or a price increase of 0.45 cents per pint. So I started drinking lager instead, as at that time the glass was ...
