KOC invites 18 firms to bid for contract to build $500m gathering centre. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is proceeding with a raft of projects to boost capacity as part of its aim to hit production of 4 million barrels a day (b/d) of oil by 2020. The move is in stark contrast to other state oil firms in the region, such as Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, which are reviewing planned projects because of uncertainty over the oil price and plummeting commodity costs.
