Traffic and business is up considerably at many local craft stores -- proof that many penny-pinching Central New Yorkers are making their own gifts this holiday season.
Jolly Soltys, owner of Little Ladies and Lace, 70 Genesee St., Camillus, has noticed more customers buying supplies to make Christmas gifts. Soltys, 52, runs the shop with her daughter Kimberly Soltys, 29. They offer private sewing lessons and sell fabric, cloth diapers, quilting materials and doll clothing.
