Poland, Germany to work on joint commemoration of 70th anniversary of World War II outbreak

WARSAW. DECEMBER 9. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - Poland and Germany will cooperate to jointly commemorate historical events such the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II and the 20th anniversary of the collapse of communism, both of which will take place in 2009, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a press conference on Tuesday.

"We will cooperate so that the commemorations of those events - important for the whole world, both in Gdansk and in Berlin - are held jointly," he said appearing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
