TARLAC CITY -- Tarlac Gov. Victor A. Yap urged hundreds of farmers gathered at the jampacked Tarlac State University (TSU) gym here yesterday to use more organic fertilizers in crop production to reduce farming costs and promote protection of the environment.
The farmers attended the Department of Agriculture's (DA) Information Caravan headed by Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap. The caravan is a priority government undertaking in support of Presiden Arroyo's food-production program under FIELDS (acronym for Fertilizer, Irrigation, Extension, Education, and Training of LGUs, Dryers, and others).
