Iowa State used that simple strategy -- and sophomore Victoria Henson's second 25-kill night in a row -- to upset the Gophers in four sets Saturday in a second-round NCAA volleyball match.
The Gophers (27-7) had won nine matches in a row and were 15-2 at home this season before the Cyclones blew them away 25-14, 26-24, 25-27, 25-19 at the Sports Pavilion.
"I was very impressed with Iowa State," Gophers coach Mike Hebert said. "We climbed our way back in the second set, we just needed one more play to take that set and, if we had, maybe it's a five-game match."
