Come March, this city's chief ambassador heads to China on a trade mission designed to solidify San Francisco's role as a key port of call for Pacific Rim business.
It is a job for which Mayor Willie Lewis Brown Jr. seems most suited.
"Knowing the mayor as a deal maker, he will probably get some commitments of investment while he is there," said mayoral spokesman P.J. Johnston. "We are a major Pacific Rim city and the mayor is going to go out and sell San Francisco."
