ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 1997--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced today that a Superfund removal is underway at the Rouse Steel Drum site in Jacksonville, Duval County, Fla.
A removal is a short-term cleanup intended to stabilize or clean up a site that poses an imminent and substantial threat to human health or the environment.
The removal is being conducted by two of the potentially responsible parties (PRPs), Chevron and Union Oil Company of California, under the authority and direction of EPA's Emergency Response and Removal Branch.
