MEXICO CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 1997--Acer Computec Latino America, S.A. de C.V. (ACLA) announced Monday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding regarding ACLA's proposed purchase of the Acer-branded Brazilian business of ACBr.

The parties hope to reach a final agreement during the first quarter of 1997, subject to the due diligence process that has commenced following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.
