Six Durban dogs have died and four others have been admitted to hospital after eating sausages laced with an insecticide, organophosphate, on Wednesday night.
All the dogs belong to Hillary residents who live in Windham Avenue and Chatham Place. The residents believe their dogs were poisoned by criminals who intended to rob their properties.
Police Supt Danelia Veldhuizen said five cases of animal poisoning were reported yesterday.
