It's not yet October, but it's time for Oktoberfest.
The big festival in Munich starts Saturday, but Seattle gets its celebration going a day earlier with the Fremont Oktoberfest, which takes place Friday through Sunday. The traditional Oktoberfest beer is typically a style known as Marzen, but our local event serves up many fall varieties. The beer garden at the Fremont Oktoberfest will offer more than 70 beers from 35 breweries, most of which are from the Northwest.
Following are suggestions on what to try at the festival, as well as seasonal beers to enjoy at home. Prost!
