CNOOC Ltd. (NYSE: CEO; SEHK: 0883), listed arm of the domestic oil giant China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), yesterday announced that its biggest light oil field would start production in 2010. With a serial number of the Jinzhou 25-1, this oilfield is lying in the Bohai Bay, Northeast China, and its total light oil deposits are estimated to stand at about 100 million tons or 733 million barrels. On October 5, 2008, CNOOC Ltd. completed the evaluation of oil and gas reserves here.
