HOYLAKE Lifeboat went to the rescue of an engineer with a serious head injury out on Liverpool Bar on Saturday.
Crosby's coastguard requested the launch of the Wirral-based boat to assist an engineer on board a tug.
The man had injured himself by hitting his head on a wire, and was later airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital with a fractured jaw.
The tug - towing a large unmanned barge - was two miles west of the Bar on passage to the North Rhyl windfarm when the accident happened.
