WILMINGTON, N.C., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Through a new cooperative effort, The Nature Conservancy's North Carolina Chapter and Georgia-Pacific Corp. will work to restore longleaf pine forests and manage 20,000 acres of southeastern coast forestlands owned by the conservation organization.
Georgia-Pacific will help Conservancy staff in Wilmington create a 20-year forest management plan for these properties through the forest products company's forestry assistance program, called Forest MAP (Management Assistance Program).
The Conservancy properties lie in the North Carolina counties of Bladen, Sampson, Columbus, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow, Duplin, ...
