Equality board member quits over budget cuts
THE former chairperson of the National Women's Council of Ireland (NWCI) has resigned from the board of the Equality Authority.
Therese Murphy (pictured right), the current deputy chair of the NWCI and vice-chair of the European Women's lobby, has resigned in protest at the recent 43pc cut to the Equality Authority's budget which prompted the resignation of chief executive Niall Crowley last week.
