El Palacio de Hualle, its last name denoting the precise location and the first alluding to the dwelling's almost having qualified for palace status, has, to understate, a long and lively history. It was built in 1612 at Treceno in Cantabria, northern Spain, for a maternal forebear of Henri Jova; was owned and occupied by family members until the late 1960s; at that time "lost" to an outsider who emerged the winner in a contested will; remained standing vacant for 18 years as rapid disintegration induced a shaky state of near-collapse; and was finally reinstated to Jova ownership in 1987. ...
