Convenience stores long have held appeal for consumers on the run. For decades, harried shoppers have been dashing in to make a quick soda or beer purchase, often after filling up their vehicles at the gas pump outside the store. The inandout convenience factor and extended operating hours have made up for the higher prices consumers typically had to pay for national brands in this channel.
