Thanks to improvements in diagnostic techniques, child abuse now is being recognized and reported by health care professionals with increased frequency.
Although the definition of child abuse includes physical harm, willful cruelty, unjustifiable punishment, severe neglect, emotional abuse or sexual abuse, the radiologic sciences specialize in diagnosing physical injuries.
