Dubai: Recycling bins have made themselves more obvious around Dubai in recent times offering residents the opportunity to think about their waste and where it goes before separating it.
While these bins might be too small to bring your weekly collected recyclable waste to, some supermarkets do have collection points for card, paper, glass, plastic and aluminum.
A UAE resident on average throws away 600 kilogrammes of recyclable material every year.
Waste production in Dubai is expected to increase from 10 million tonnes in 2004 to more than 20 million tonnes by 2010.
