A startup company that will produce fuel-efficient hybrid buses getting twice the mileage of hybrid cars will ask for $11.3 million in state tax credits today to get the company off the ground and hire 539 employees.
Fisher Coachworks L.L.C. will go before the Michigan Economic Growth Authority board requesting the tax credit for its effort to construct a $7 million plant in Livonia for its ultra-lightweight, fuel-efficient hybrid buses.
The request is one of 14 put before the MEGA board today, recommended by the Michigan Economic Development Corp.
