TAIPEI, Dec 23 Asia Pulse - More workers in Taiwan -- especially those in the photonics, semiconductor and computer manufacturing industries -- were forced by their employers to take unpaid leave in November, according to official statistics released Monday.
The statistics, compiled by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, showed that as a result of the unpaid leave practice, 741,000 people worked less than 35 hours per week in November, an increase of 205,000 over October's total of 536,000.
