Feb. 7--Reba McEntire's new film production company is setting up shop at Universal Studios in Los Angeles as part of a new, long-term contract with MCA Nashville.

MCA Nashville has been McEntire's record company since 1984 and is a division of Universal.

Starstruck Films has acquired rights to a best-selling novel, said the company's Los Angeles-based head of production, Shelley Browning. She would not name the book pending execution of the deal by Universal.

"It's an exciting, much-sought-after acquisition, and the purchase price on it is in the seven figures, so it was quite a nice way to launch the company," Browning said ...
