CIGARETTE vending machines are to be outlawed in Scotland in the latest part of the SNP's anti-smoking crusade.
Ministers yesterday backed moves to prohibit all such machines - usually found in pubs and clubs - in an effort to improve the nation's health.
The proposals will be considered by the Scottish parliament next year as a follow-up to the landmark ban on smoking in public places.
It follows pressure from health bodies which claim the machines provide teenagers with easy access to tobacco.
