ROWLAND, N.C., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tobacco Growers Association of North Carolina today issued the following statement:

The Food and Drug Administration's authority to implement strict tobacco regulations is being challenged today in Federal court in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Tobacco Growers Association of North Carolina takes this opportunity to again voice our strong opposition to these regulations which are set to begin February 28th. This type of federal regulation robs Americans of their lawful rights and personal choice. It also threatens the livelihood of thousands of North Carolina families who depend on tobacco.
