Michael Krowicki told police that he knew he was driving at least twice the legal speed limit in an attempt to "grab air" on Oneida's Sayles Street last spring.
He told police that the front two tires of his Ford Taurus got off the ground when he crested the hill and the car landed on all four tires before he lost control. The car struck a tree, killing passenger Ryan Aldasch, 16.
Those details of the May 9 crash emerged in court papers filed Thursday when Krowicki was charged with criminally negligent homicide. The papers included his May 10 statement to police.
