Oatmeal and oat bran cereals are the primary products allowed to carry a recently approved soluble fiber health claim. The claim for oatmeal, now being touted by some cereal manufacturers reads "Soluble fiber from oatmeal as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease."
