This narrative is a personal account of the Iraq War from the perspective of a reserve army officer who served in a Civil Affairs outfit stationed in Mosul. Mosul is a mixed ethnic city in the North that is dear to the Kurdish minority but bitterly contested by the once dominant Sunni minority. The author, Wayne H. Bowen, specifically relates his assignment as a liaison officer to the University of Mosul during his eight-month tour of duty from February to October of 2004.
