SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Photon Dynamics, Inc. (Nasdaq: PHTN) today reported revenue and earnings for the first quarter of fiscal 1997 ended December 31, 1996.
For the quarter, revenue increased to $6.25 million, from $6.21 million in the first quarter of fiscal 1996. Gross margin as a percent of revenue increased to 49% in the quarter from 45% in the first quarter of fiscal 1996. Net income for the quarter decreased to $52,000, from $563,000 in the first quarter of 1996. Earnings per share were $0.01 on 7.62 million shares compared with $0.09 cents on 6.55 million shares outstanding in the first quarter of fiscal 1996.
