Nepal govt signs agreement with Terai armed group

Kathmandu, Dec 26 (PTI) In a bid to end violence in Terai region of Nepal, the Maoist led government today held formal talks with a Madhesi armed group and signed a five point deal to end violence in the region.

The Madhesi group, Samyukta Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (SJTMM), an outfit formed by the former Maoist rebels had launched a violent struggle for greater rights and more autonomy for the Madhesi people.
