Plenty of shows kept art fans shuttling from space to space. The work included a spate of contemporary German artists, a sweeping look at the paintings of veteran artist Dave Yust, the debut here of work by Colorado- and London-based painter Monroe Hodder, and Dale Chisman's final show before his death in August. But certain events mark the year as one of dramatic cultural change and growth, now tinged with the shadow of uncertain economic times facing everyone in the art, architectural and preservation communities. In no particular order, here's what we'll remember from 2008.
