Introduction
Canadian society is faced with an increasing number of people who are overweight and obese. Specifically, the high prevalence of pediatric overweight and obesity in Canada (Shields 2006) has provided strong justification for establishing clinical weight management centres across the country (Newton et al. 2007b).
