Louise Hanson-Dyer (nee Smith), wealthy patroness of musical activities in her native Australia and founder of Les Editions de L'Oiseau-Lyre in Paris and of the recording company of the same name, died in Monaco in 1962 at the age of seventy-eight. Her second husband, J. B. Hanson, maintained both enterprises until 1970, when he sold the recording business to Decca. Since his death in 1971, the press continues under the guidance of his widow, Margarita M. Hanson, supported until 2006 by funds from the Dyer-Hanson Bequest to the University of Melbourne.
