WORCESTER Phyllis M. (Condran) Giroux passed into eternal life on Friday, December 26, 2008.
Phyllis was born March 8, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Winchester, Massachusetts. Her husband of 50 years, Paul L. Giroux, died in 1998. He was a former chief copy editor of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. She graduated from Winchester High School and the Waltham Hospital School of Nursing. She proudly served in the US Cadet Nurse Corp for three years during World War II, her service ending with the war. She was Assistant Head Nurse at Mass. General Hospital and served her community as a VNA nurse in Winchester. Later, she worked at Deaconess Hospital, ...
