Who will Mayor Richard Riordan appoint to head the Port of Los Angeles?
That's the question reverberating through L.A.'s international trade community, following last week's announcement that after 12 years as the port's executive director, Ezunial Burts is leaving to become president of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
Burts' departure leaves a vacuum at the helm of one of the city's most powerful agencies.
Board of Harbor Commissioners President Leland Wong and the port's recently appointed Chief Operating Officer Larry Keller are the oft-mentioned contenders, although others predict Riordan will appoint a political loyalist from outside ...
