The seemingly intractable turmoil in the Middle East has flared up once more, with Israel launching a major air assault over the weekend to put an end to the cross-border rocket fire coming from Gaza. While Arab governments have denounced Israel for its actions, the roots of the current conflict lie in the failure of the Hamas leadership.
