JOHN COLLINS last night pinpointed the improvements Steven Fletcher has to make to succeed away from Hibs as Middlesbrough line up a [pounds sterling]2million bid for the striker.

Sportsmail revealed yesterday that the Riverside outfit plan to make a final check on Fletcher in tomorrow's Edinburgh derby before moving in with an opening offer.

It was former Hibs boss Collins who established the 21-year-old as a firstteam regular at Easter Road, mentoring him during a spell in charge which brought CIS Cup glory to the club.
