Feb. 21--The walls have come down inside the new Fred Meyer store at 1555 Northgate Mile, and that's by design.
Being able to see everything in each direction helps orient shoppers, said Robert E. Boley, the company's assistant vice president of public relations. And it also reinforces the idea of "one-stop shopping," that a customer can get anything and everything he or she wants under one roof.
The 154,000-square-foot store opens March 5. It replaces the store in the Yellowstone Mall, which closed Feb. 1. The new store will employ about 250 full-time and part-time people. Everybody from the old store was offered a job, and nearly all the other ...
