IT'S the predictable response to any festive period characterised by overindulgence and under-exertion.
If a chart of the most used words in the English language were to be compiled on a month-by-month basis, "detox" would surely appear in the upper echelons in January, only to disappear without trace for the remaining 11 months.
But all those embarking on elaborate detoxifying programmes in the hope of forgetting a corpulent Christmas should take note of the findings of a new study released today: the word "detox" actually means very little.
