Proponents of open access (OA) now have an association to call their own. The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) was formed on Oct. 14 with the goal of supporting and representing the interests of OA journal publishers worldwide. The organization will provide a forum for the exchange of OA experiences, promote standards, work to advance OA business models, advocate for gold OA, hold publishing workshops and seminars, and promote innovation, according to Caroline Sutton, publisher and sales and marketing manager at Co-Action Publishing, an OASPA member.
