China's iron ore stockpiles down to 60.15 mln tons by January 2
Shanghai. January 5. INTERFAX-CHINA - Iron ore stockpiles at China's 22 major ports stood at 60.15 million tons on Friday, Jan. 2, down 1.3 percent from Dec. 26, while Indian iron ore stockpiles decreased by 8.16 percent to 13.17 million tons, according to figures released by Shanghai-based Mysteel.
Spot prices of imported iron ore experienced slight fluctuations over the week as trader confidence wavered. Meanwhile, transaction volume dipped on tight spot market supplies, which resulted from steel mills increasing purchases after recently resuming operations at production facilities.
