Walk around Salem Hyde and Roberts schools in Syracuse and you'll likely have trouble finding the special education students. Special education teachers might be another stumper.
That's because the two schools no longer separate special needs students from the general student population at any point during the day, a common practice in some schools.
All students in those buildings are taught in and receive necessary services in a traditional grade-level classroom through an initiative called Schools of Promise, which aims to improve inclusion practices.
