Israelis face new outcry after shell attack kills dozens
Israel was under mounting international pressure last night to halt its offensive in Gaza after scores died in a shell attack on a UN school.
The school, flying a blue and white UN flag, was one of 23 improvised shelters set up by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to accommodate families who had fled their homes.
But nothing could protect them from the shells that exploded just outside the school yesterday afternoon.
At least 30 -- and perhaps as many as 42 -- were killed by shrapnel and another 55 injured in what is so far the worst confirmed bloodshed of Israel's onslaught ...
