NEW YORK -- It's the season for seniors to evaluate Medicare Part D plans, and several leading drug chains are offering assistance in sorting out options that can be confusing for patients. The six-week period of open enrollment ends December 31.
For example, Walgreen Co. is offering free personalized reports either in-store through their pharmacies or online at Walgreens.com/medicare. A pharmacist (or the patient, if using the online alternative) enters a list of the patient's medications, generating a printout of each plan's estimated annual costs, including monthly premiums, co-pays for branded and generic drugs, and coverage through the coverage gap, or ...
