IN a global celebration meant to generate and reinforce worldwide awareness of the importance of international civil aviation in the social and economic development of nations and to promote the safety, efficiency, and regulation of international air transport, International Aviation Day is observed on December 7 each year. It coincides with the anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Organization which was established on December 7, 1944.
